Years ago, I shared my experience remineralizing my teeth. Since then, I’ve received many questions about my oral care routine. While I’m not actively healing any cavities now, I still follow this routine for maintaining healthy teeth.
For those new to remineralization, this article explores the specifics of the process (yes, it’s possible!). Additionally, an interview with a dentist about the body’s ability to remineralize teeth may provide valuable insight.
Good oral hygiene is essential for preventing tooth decay, bad breath, gingivitis, and even oral cancer. Dental health directly impacts overall health and wellness, affecting fertility, pregnancy, heart health, and more. Taking care of our mouths is crucial!
In addition to oral care, I emphasize maintaining a healthy mouth through diet and lifestyle. This podcast guest discusses how oral health extends beyond brushing and flossing. Using natural oral care products is also crucial for dental hygiene.
My Daily Oral Hygiene Routine
This is the daily oral care routine I follow to keep my mouth healthy. It helped remineralize my teeth years ago and continues to help prevent new cavities.
Morning
- Oil-Pulling – Upon waking up, I oil-pull with coconut oil and Wellnesse Balanced Mouth Blend. Swishing for 15-20 minutes helps eliminate plaque and tartar buildup.
- Mouth Rinse – If I don’t have time for oil-pulling, I use the Mouth Blend mixed with water as a mouth rinse.
- Brush – I brush with homemade remineralizing paste or tooth powder and use the Wellnesse Bamboo Toothbrush. For those who prefer a ready-made option, Wellnesse Whitening Toothpaste is fluoride-free and effective.
- Supplements – I take vitamin K2-7 and magnesium supplements for overall health.
- Probiotics – I take a probiotic to support gut health and balance oral bacteria.
Daytime
- Hydrate – Drinking water helps maintain an alkaline pH in the mouth, promoting oral health.
- Vitamin D – Sun exposure is crucial for obtaining vitamin D, essential for teeth health.
Evening
- Floss – Using Wellnesse Peppermint Silk Floss helps prevent periodontal issues.
- Brush – After flossing, I brush with activated charcoal for whitening. Tongue scraping is another practice I follow daily.
- Bedtime – Maintaining a consistent bedtime routine is essential for restorative sleep and overall health.
Oral Health Diet
Eating a balanced diet rich in proteins, fats, and vegetables is crucial for oral health and remineralization.
Getting sufficient fat-soluble vitamins and minerals, focusing on healthy fats, proteins, and collagen, and limiting phytic acid intake are important dietary considerations.
