Jiang Honghui, former top executive at Vertex, appointed as CEO of 17LIVE Group

17LIVE Group, the leading live-streaming company in Asia, has appointed Jiang Honghui as the CEO and Executive Director. He takes over from Joseph Phua, who will remain as the Non-Executive Non-Independent Chairman.

Honghui, who has been advising Phua since the second quarter of 2024, will now oversee the company’s operations and strategy. With an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and over 12 years of experience in VC investment, including at the Vertex Group, Honghui brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.

Prior to joining 17LIVE, Honghui held various positions at Vertex Group, including overseeing investment activities in technology, consumer internet, healthcare, and cleantech in Southeast Asia and Greater China. He also served as a director on the board of Vertex portfolio companies.

As the new CEO, Honghui will be leading 17LIVE’s growth and expansion efforts, building on the company’s success in Japan, Taiwan, and other international markets.

Headquartered in Tokyo, 17LIVE is a prominent live-streaming platform with a strong presence in multiple countries. Through AI-powered technology, the platform connects users with live streamers who create engaging and personalized content. According to Frost & Sullivan, 17LIVE holds a significant market share in Japan and Taiwan.
