He emphasized that agriculture goes beyond sustenance, playing a crucial role in national resilience, economic growth, and social wellbeing. President Bio stressed the link between food scarcity and national security, stating that prioritizing investments in agriculture can help mitigate food price volatility and lead towards food self-sufficiency.
President Bio called for increased investment in the agriculture sector to create jobs, reduce dependency on food imports, boost export earnings, and catalyze sustainable economic growth. He highlighted the need for a private sector-led approach in achieving a robust food production system in Sierra Leone.
