President El-Sisi holds meeting with Prime Minister and Ministers of Justice and Health

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had a meeting today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Justice Counselor Omar Marwan, and Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar.

The Spokesman for the Presidency Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy mentioned that President El-Sisi discussed the government’s efforts to encourage private sector investment in the health sector and increase investment in healthcare. They also talked about ensuring that investors follow through on their commitments to set up and manage health facilities, as well as the necessary legislative steps to enable private sector participation in the health system.

The President instructed swift completion of the legislative process to allow private sector involvement in healthcare to strengthen its capabilities, increase capacity, and improve the quality and efficiency of services.

They also discussed the progress of various national health projects, including the first branch of the French Gustave Roussy Institute of Oncology in Egypt, the Medical City of Nasser Institute, Nile Medical City, Central Laboratories project in Badr City, and Medical City of Educational Institutes. The President directed the provision of necessary support for these projects as part of the state’s plan to expand healthcare services and implement universal health insurance coverage.

The meeting also covered efforts to boost the pharmaceutical industry, expand Egyptian medicine exports, and the presidential initiative to eliminate waiting lists. President El-Sisi emphasized the need for financial support in this area and to accelerate the initiative’s progress while continuing to support health services for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
