Longenesis emerges victorious at Expand North Star’s pitch competition with innovative data utilization platform.

Latvian health tech startup Longenesis at the Supernova Challenge 2.0

Latvian health tech startup Longenesis emerged as the winner of The Supernova Challenge 2.0, a startup pitch competition at the Expand North Star event in Dubai on October 16. They were awarded a prize of US$100,000.

Longenesis aims to revolutionize healthcare by speeding up the development of innovative treatments and improving patient engagement through advanced data utilization. Collaborating with major healthcare institutions, global life sciences companies, and government bodies, Longenesis has positively impacted over 850,000 patients in Europe and the Middle East.

CEO Emil Syundyukov stated, “It is all about unlocking the hidden value of data. By involving a wider population in the data conversation, we can help deliver therapies to those in need faster. This win marks the beginning of our journey to break geographical barriers in healthcare research, particularly in the Gulf region.”

Singapore-based ProfilePrint secured second place with a prize of US$60,000 for its AI-driven platform that utilizes patented digital food identity technology. ProfilePrint empowers agribusinesses to make informed decisions by converting molecular data into digital fingerprints.

Third place went to NEXTPAYMENTS INC. from South Korea, winning US$35,000 for its innovative AI kiosks and smart store technologies that enhance retail experiences for consumers.

The north star of innovation

Hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy and organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, Expand North Star witnessed its largest edition this year in conjunction with the GITEX GLOBAL 2024 event.

The event saw a significant increase in participation with a total prize pool of US$200,000. Over 1,800 startups and 1,200 investors participated, showcasing a 40% rise in global engagement compared to previous editions.

The Supernova Challenge 2.0 had over 650 competing startups from various regions, with the UAE, India, and South Korea leading the contributions. Startups at different stages of development participated, with a strong representation from sectors like AI, SaaS, and healthcare.
