According to sources from The Athletic, Caitlin Clark has been awarded the Rookie of the Year title for the 2024 WNBA season after making significant achievements in the record books.
Clark’s win was expected due to her remarkable debut season where she shattered both the single-season and single-game assist records, as well as setting records for most points by a rookie and a point guard. She also became the first rookie to achieve two triple-doubles and the first Fever player to accomplish a triple-double.

Although the Rookie of the Year race was initially competitive, Clark’s consistency and standout performances secured her the title. Her main contender, Angel Reese, also had a strong first half of the season but faced setbacks in the latter part, leading to Clark’s victory.
The focus for both Clark and Reese remained on winning games rather than individual accolades, showcasing their dedication to team success over personal achievements.

Looking at other awards, Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx was recognized as the 2024 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year for her outstanding contributions to the team’s defensive success throughout the season.

The Lynx will face the Connecticut Sun in the semifinals, with Game 1 set for 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
