After injury against Kansas City, Ravens LB Kyle Van Noy criticizes Chiefs training staff as ‘unprofessional’

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy criticized the Kansas City Chiefs training staff for their handling of an eye injury he sustained during a game on Sept. 5 at Arrowhead Stadium. Van Noy described the treatment as “unprofessional” and expressed disappointment in the delay in receiving proper medical attention.

Van Noy revealed on his podcast that he suffered a fractured orbital bone and needed to see an ophthalmologist, but was left waiting in the locker room for an extended period of time. He emphasized the importance of timely and proper care for injuries, especially those that could be serious.

The linebacker expressed frustration over the slow response from the Chiefs training staff, mentioning that it took an entire quarter for someone to check on him. He highlighted the lack of urgency and professionalism in their handling of the situation.

Van Noy also mentioned that Chiefs players had given their training staff a low grade in the NFL Players Association team-by-team report cards, ranking them 31st overall. In contrast, the Ravens training staff received a B- and finished 15th overall in the rankings.

Despite the incident, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh stated that Van Noy had not directly spoken to him about the situation. Harbaugh expressed respect for all medical personnel in the league and emphasized his admiration for Van Noy as a player.

Van Noy, who is in his 11th season in the league, expressed disappointment in how the situation was handled by the Chiefs but did not seek an apology from them. He raised concerns about the professionalism and care he expected but did not receive in that moment of need.

Following the news, Van Noy declined to comment when approached by reporters in the team’s locker room. The Chiefs declined to provide a response to the situation.
