The Premier League’s summer transfer window may have closed, but many big-name players still have uncertain futures.
While the window remains open in Turkey until September 13, moves could still happen. However, with four months until the start of the January window in the major European leagues, The Athletic has put together a starting XI of players who currently find themselves out of favor at their top-flight side.
Though some players have not been completely left out of first-team action, their futures look uncertain.

GK: Odysseas Vlachodimos
Vlachodimos had a short stint at Nottingham Forest before joining Newcastle United as part of profit and sustainability rules. He is not expected to play a significant role under Eddie Howe.
While options for a loan were available, Newcastle couldn’t find a suitable deal before the deadline. Vlachodimos currently ranks behind other goalkeepers at Newcastle and is yet to feature in a matchday squad.
