President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with General Charles Q. Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, and his delegation. Also in attendance were General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and U.S. Ambassador to Cairo, Herro Mustafa Garg.
Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, Spokesman for the Presidency, stated that the meeting focused on the current developments in the Middle East. President El-Sisi stressed the need for decisive action from the international community to de-escalate tensions in the region, particularly warning against the dangers of a new front opening in Lebanon.
President El-Sisi highlighted the importance of Egyptian-American-Qatari efforts for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners to promote stability. He also emphasized the urgent humanitarian aid needed for the people of Gaza, calling for international support for a political process leading to an independent Palestinian state.
The meeting discussed the strong strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, with a focus on security and military cooperation. The U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff praised Egypt’s role in promoting peace and stability and expressed interest in further enhancing mutual cooperation for regional stability.
