Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio Advocates for FEED SALONE Program, Highlights Importance of Agricultural Investments in Addressing Food Price Fluctuations

His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio delivered his State Opening of Parliament Address today, highlighting the importance of agriculture and food security for a nation’s stability and prosperity.

He emphasized that agriculture goes beyond sustenance, playing a crucial role in national resilience, economic growth, and social wellbeing. President Bio stressed the link between food scarcity and national security, stating that prioritizing investments in agriculture can help mitigate food price volatility and lead towards food self-sufficiency.
