President El-Sisi Assesses Progress in Implementing the National Industrial Strategy

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi convened a meeting today to discuss the progress of the National Industrial Strategy implementation. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Lieutenant-General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of State for Military Production Eng. Mohamed Salah El-Din, Minister of Local Development Dr. Manal Awad Mikhail, Minister of Finance Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Eng. Sherif Sherbiny, Minister of Public Business Sector Eng. Mohammed Sheemy, and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Eng. Hassan El-Khatib.

The Presidency Spokesman, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the meeting discussed the National Industrial Strategy’s implementation plan, aimed at enhancing Egyptian industry, utilizing available resources, and tapping into the potential of domestic and foreign private sectors. The objective is to position Egypt as a leading industrial hub regionally and internationally to boost exports and the national economy, thereby improving citizens’ quality of life.

The meeting addressed existing challenges facing the Egyptian industry and proposed comprehensive solutions. President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of the industrial sector, especially in light of current global and regional dynamics, which present opportunities to strengthen Egypt’s industrial base. He instructed the government and the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development to intensify efforts in localizing key industries, technology transfer, and enhancing the private sector’s role to enhance competitiveness both at home and abroad.

The President stressed the significance of workforce training and skill development, as well as updating the industrial investment map to attract new investments across diverse sectors. Furthermore, he mandated a study on struggling factories to identify challenges and devise innovative solutions for their revival to protect investments and workers’ rights.
