Enabling Gas-Powered Industrial Growth in Africa: Perenco’s Sustainable Energy Solutions

Perenco, the independent hydrocarbon producer, recently launched its first-ever gas-to-industry supply project in Cameroon, reaffirming its dedication to Africa’s energy sector. The Bigapa Gas Processing Center was put into service last July, representing a significant milestone in the company’s partnership with Cameroon’s National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH).

The processing center will source gas from the Sanaga South Field to supply the Keda tile factory with between 3.5 million and 6.5 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. This gas will play a crucial role in the industrial development of the region in Cameroon, powering the factory’s electrical generators and kilns through a 6-km SNH-operated pipeline.

The African Energy Chamber (AEC), as the voice of the African energy sector, commends Perenco for this achievement, recognizing the strategic growth opportunity it represents for Cameroon and the wider West African region. With a strong background in oil and gas exploration and production, Perenco continues to drive technological advancement and pave the way for a brighter future in the markets where it operates.

Perenco’s milestone in launching its first gas-to-industry project in Cameroon builds upon its successful track record of project delivery in collaboration with SNH. The company’s partnership with floating LNG player Golar LNG in the Cameroon FLNG Terminal is another example of its commitment to the region.
