Big-event tickets are still available to the public more than a week after the 2024 Paris Olympics began, including the men’s and women’s showcase 100m finals. Organizers have sold eight million of the 10 million tickets available but are still trying to sell tickets for track and field events.
As of Thursday afternoon, tickets for the men’s 10,000m final and the women’s 800m first round are still available at the Stade de France. Prices start at €195 because the €85 category has sold out.
For Saturday night’s track and field events, which include the women’s 100m semi-finals and final, as well as the 4x400m relay mixed final, tickets are still available starting at €690.
Tickets for the men’s 100m final featuring Team USA star Noah Lyles are also available for €525. The cheapest option, which has sold out, was a Category D ticket for €125.
Remaining tickets for round one of the men’s and women’s 4x100m relay race on August 8 cost €170, with the cheapest ticket before selling out at €24.
Sebastian Coe, president of World Athletics, has expressed concerns about ticket prices in Paris, while Tony Estanguet, president of the Paris 2024 organising committee, defended the prices.
Tickets for various events, including the men’s football quarter-final and the men’s basketball final, are still available at different prices. Hospitality tickets for the men’s basketball final cost €6,500 and include an off-site package at the Eiffel Tower.
Out of the 10 million tickets, two million were reserved for hospitality and stakeholders. General sale tickets were sold in phases, with a requirement to purchase tickets for at least three different events.
Some events such as climbing and BMX freestyle sold out quickly, with other events like track cycling, fencing, and judo also selling out within days.
For events like the men’s and women’s marathon and road cycling races, fans can line the streets for free instead of purchasing tickets for the stands.
