StellarPH, a Filipino company that fosters a dynamic community of successful startups and alumni, has recently introduced the PH100 programme. This initiative aims to discover and support 100 of the brightest young talents in the Philippines, providing them with a platform to bring their ideas to life and create impactful projects.

The PH100 list is looking for individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions to the design, engineering, marketing, academia, and media sectors.

e27 had a conversation with StellarPH founder Pjotr Steinmetz to explore more about PH100.

Can you explain the selection criteria for the PH100 programme and the qualities you seek in applicants?

The PH100 is our initiative to highlight the brightest young minds in the Philippines under the age of 30. Anyone can nominate themselves or others. Initially, individuals will be evaluated based on their professional experience, educational background, and personal achievements. Criteria for the list include the originality, impact, and perseverance of each person’s accomplishments in relation to their age and background.

For example, a 29-year-old achieving similar feats as a 17-year-old (with the same background) would be ranked lower as their accomplishments are relatively less impressive.

After the announcement of PH100, a panel of respected, impartial, and internationally recognized judges will assess and recognize the top talents; the #1 spot will be revealed during Geeks on a Beach in November.

How will the PH100 programme assist the selected individuals in developing and executing their projects?

Bringing together like-minded young entrepreneurs and founders is essential for success in any startup ecosystem. Surrounding oneself with individuals who share similar interests, ambitions, and goals provides inspiration and networking opportunities. Whether it is to find a business partner, gain inspiration from innovative projects, or connect with fellow talents, we believe that exceptional talent deserves recognition and that innovative startups in the Philippines should be celebrated!

Can you provide some examples of the projects or innovations you hope to see from the PH100 participants?

We are not specifically looking for projects, innovations, or companies. The PH100 list is focused on acknowledging and celebrating talented individuals under 30 who are entrepreneurial and working on exciting endeavors.

In other words, we are seeking individuals proud of the projects they are working on. The list celebrates talent across various fields, including academia, entrepreneurship, development, marketing, and more.

Regardless of the industry, stage, or revenue, if you believe someone’s work is exceptional, share it, submit it, or nominate them!

What resources and support systems will be available to PH100 participants during and after the program?

At StellarPH, we believe that creating a supportive community of like-minded individuals is key to success in any ecosystem. Depending on our partners, we will organize a range of Talent Sessions focused on networking, knowledge sharing, and resource exchange.

How does StellarPH ensure inclusivity and equal opportunities for applicants from diverse backgrounds and regions in the Philippines?

The selection process for the PH100 is carried out by a carefully selected committee of experienced entrepreneurs, founders, and industry experts. This panel includes judges from both the Filipino and international entrepreneurial communities.

As mentioned earlier, the PH100 is dedicated to highlighting key talent. The selection process takes into account personal achievements, individual backgrounds, and obstacles faced. We acknowledge that individuals from different economic backgrounds or regions encounter unique challenges. We consider this diversity when compiling the list, as we believe that inclusivity and diversity are essential for the success of any ecosystem.

What is your vision for the future of the PH100 program, and how do you see it evolving in the coming years?

We envision PH100 as the premier annual showcase of the most talented individuals in the Filipino ecosystem under the age of 30. A list that objectively and impartially recognizes the most talented individuals who have made a significant impact and achieved remarkable accomplishments, setting an example in their field.

Our goal is to build a community of these talents to help them connect with other ambitious individuals and realize their entrepreneurial aspirations. Through this, we aim to inspire future generations to dream big and pursue their entrepreneurial goals by showcasing a generation of visible and successful talents.
