President Ramkalawan of Seychelles participates in the graduation ceremony for the School of Advanced Level Studies

President Wavel Ramkalawan and First Lady Linda Ramkalawan were honored guests at the 18th graduation ceremony for students who completed their studies at the School of Advanced Level Studies (SALS). The ceremony took place at the International Conference Centre Seychelles (ICCS) yesterday afternoon.

The event included awards presentations for top academic performers, overall best performers in various subjects, the governing board award, principal’s award, and the President’s Cup. Additionally, aspiring teacher awards were introduced this year to recognize students excelling in the Aspiring Teacher program with the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (SITE).

The President’s Cup was awarded to Daniel Bedier for his consistent performance, discipline, character, and participation in extracurricular activities. George Razanajatovo received the Minister’s Cup as the overall best performer, and also excelled in Computer Science alongside Jonathan Albest.

Twelve alumni received Best Performer awards in different subjects, while Kella Philoe received the Aspiring Teacher award and Leroy Asba earned the Governing Board Award. In total, 121 students graduated during the ceremony.

In her address, Principal Elaine Larue challenged the graduates to pursue their passions and excel in their endeavors. Minister Devika Vidot commended the graduates’ commitment and urged them to use their skills for the nation’s benefit.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Minister of Education Justin Valentin, Leader of the Opposition Hon. Sebastien Pillay, and SALS Management and Staff.
