Avid golfer David Wong faced challenges finding golfing companions due to the time commitment the game required. Coordinating with busy professionals with conflicting schedules was nearly impossible. This frustration led to the creation of Deemples, a platform similar to Uber, connecting golfers to arrange games easily.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Deemples functions as the “Uber for golfers,” facilitating connections among golfers for game arrangements, regardless of schedules. The name “Deemples” is a play on the word “dimples.” Wong explains how the platform aims to bring golfers together smoothly, similar to how dimples are vital for a golf ball’s flight.
The company was founded in 2017 by Wong and Ahmad Daleen, offering a seamless experience for golfers. Users can browse games, interact, make payments, and leave reviews. The platform recently received US$2 million in funding for expansion across Southeast Asia.
Building community and expanding partnerships
Engaging the golfing community and attracting new users are key to Deemples’s strategy. The platform has seen growth through partnerships with golf courses, offering lessons and posting available tee times. This approach benefits golf courses by boosting revenue and player engagement.
Deemples aims to transform how golf is played and enjoyed across Southeast Asia, making the game more accessible and enjoyable for enthusiasts in the region and beyond.
