Vice President Bawumia Breaks Ground for Construction of 200-Bed Hostel at Trinity Theological Seminary in Ghana

The Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has initiated the construction of a four-storey, 200-bed hostel facility for the Trinity Theological Seminary in Accra.

Funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND), the multi-purpose hostel fulfills a pledge made by Dr. Bawumia following a request by the Seminary during its 2022 Congregation, which he attended.

During the sod-cutting ceremony at the Seminary in Accra, Dr. Bawumia expressed the importance of the construction in addressing the accommodation shortage at the school and enhancing the learning environment.

“It is with great pleasure and excitement that we gather here today for the sod-cutting ceremony, marking the commencement of the construction of a 200-bed, four-storey hostel,” Dr. Bawumia remarked.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the Trinity Theological Seminary deserves such a magnificent facility, even as a private institution, given its role in nurturing individuals with good values.

He also recognized the vital contributions of Churches and other faith-based groups to Ghana’s development, particularly in education and healthcare, stating that government support complements their efforts.

Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to various individuals and entities who have contributed to the project’s commencement, including the management of Trinity Theological Seminary, the Minister for Education, the Board of Trustees and Management of the GETFUND, and the Board and Management of GTEC.

The hostel facilities will include accommodation, study area, sports center, and kitchenette, among others.
