I will Face the People Again after 2024 and Increase Accountability to Ghanaians- Dr. Bawumia

The Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasized his commitment to accountability if elected as President. He contrasted himself with his main contender, former President John Mahama, stating that Mahama, who will not seek re-election, will not be as accountable to the people as he would be. Dr. Bawumia made these remarks at the NPP International Conference in Johannesburg on March 23, 2024.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted his lack of presidential experience as a reason for increased accountability if elected. He expressed his intention to seek re-election, giving him another chance to be accountable to the Ghanaian people unlike Mahama, who will serve only one term.

Stressing the importance of credibility and a proven track record, Dr. Bawumia stated that Ghana needs a leader capable of solving generational problems and corruption. He emphasized his role as a problem solver and anti-corruption advocate through various policies implemented during his time as Vice President.

Dr. Bawumia cited initiatives such as the digital national identity system, national property address system, mobile money interoperability, and other policies aimed at addressing long-standing issues in Ghana. He also underscored his commitment to fighting corruption through digitalization of public services and other anti-corruption measures.

Overall, Dr. Bawumia positioned himself as a candidate with innovative ideas and a strong track record, ready to tackle the challenges facing Ghana if elected as President.
