Position West Africa as Global Energy Powerhouse by Investing in African Energy (IAE) 2024

A roundtable focused on West Africa will highlight Senegal, Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia at the Invest in African Energy (IAE) 2024 forum. The region is driving new developments in oil and gas exploration, gas-to-power, and LNG trade and distribution.

The forum, taking place over two days, showcases projects seeking capital, technology, and services to global investors. With West Africa becoming a global energy powerhouse, the session will delve into each country’s government strategy in traditional and renewable energy sectors, as well as discuss the latest exploration and development progress in the MSGBC region.

The panelists will include key industry figures such as Amadou Doumbouya, Foday Mansaray, Baboucarr Njie, and Thierno Seydou Ly, with Silvia Macri moderating the session. Senegal, with two megaprojects set to start producing oil and gas in 2024, is leading in diversified energy development focusing on both fossil fuels and renewables.

The Gambia is exploring its offshore potential for oil discoveries, while Sierra Leone is attracting investors with its frontier acreage and extensive data. Guinea-Conakry is in the final stages of its licensing round and is developing an LNG terminal at the Port of Kamsar. The region is filled with partnership and investment opportunities in exploration, gas-to-power, and LNG distribution, which will be discussed at the upcoming roundtable session.
