Pecan Energies Renames DWT/CTP Block, Focused on Driving Prosperity in Ghana and Beyond

Pecan Energies (www.PecanEnergies.com), the operator of the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block offshore Ghana is excited to announce the successful completion of its rebranding journey.

The company has rebranded with a new name, logo, and brand identity to better showcase its dedication to promoting prosperity and growth in African communities. Reflecting this transformation is Pecan Energies’ new tagline: “Unlocking Prosperity.”

Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) acquired Pecan Energies in April 2023, leading to the establishment of a new brand identity. AFC, a multilateral financial institution established by African sovereign states, aims to provide practical solutions to Africa’s infrastructure challenges. The acquisition demonstrated AFC’s dedication to promoting sustainable development of Africa’s natural resources, including the vast oil and gas reserves, while preserving their value within the continent. Pecan Energies holds a 50% stake in the DWT/CTP block offshore Ghana.

“Pecan Energies embodies our vision to be the premier Pan-African oil and gas operator in the deep waters off Ghana. Our new brand is focused on value creation, a core principle of ours. This also includes a firm commitment to transparency in utilizing our commercial and technical expertise to drive progress in Ghana and beyond,” stated Eiliv Gjesdal, Chief Executive Officer of Pecan Energies AS.

Pecan Energies is progressing well towards a Final Investment Decision (FID) following the approval of its Plan of Development (PoD) for the DWT/CTP contract area by Ghanaian authorities. Under its new ownership and identity, the aim is to maximize the social and economic impact potential of the entire DWT/CTP block, which includes discoveries of approximately 550 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents and a significant exploration portfolio.

“In embracing our new identity, sustainability, localization, empowerment, and giving back are not only promises — they are integral to our business ethos,” said Kadijah Amoah, Chief Executive Officer of Pecan Energies Ghana Limited.

Key Highlights of the Rebrand:

New Logo: The logo incorporates modern design elements that mirror the company’s forward-thinking approach. It is designed to be clear, simple, and impactful, stemming from shapes and symbols that evoke collaboration and mutual benefit.

Brand Palette & Typography: Adopting a palette that reflects our commitment to sustainable resource development plays a key role in establishing and sustaining brand recognition.

Vision and Mission: Our vision and mission reflect our goals to develop and produce resources safely, efficiently, and responsibly for the mutual benefit of the Ghanaian people, the company, and our partners. Our objective is to unlock greater prosperity in Ghana and beyond.
