Dr. Afrouz Demeri: Unleashing the Healing Power of the Mind-Body Connection for Optimal Health

Child: Welcome to my Mom’s podcast! This episode is sponsored by BiOptimizers and their amazing product, Magnesium Breakthrough. As someone who has talked extensively about the importance of magnesium for the past 15 years, I am a huge fan of this specific formula. Magnesium is essential for overall health and low levels can lead to various issues. Unfortunately, over 80% of us don’t get enough magnesium from our diets alone due to depleted soil. This is where BiOptimizers Magnesium Breakthrough comes in. It offers a full spectrum of all seven types of magnesium, reaching every tissue in your body and providing maximum health benefits. Personally, I have noticed a reduction in stress levels and improved sleep when taking this supplement. Magnesium is necessary for a healthy immune system, normal heart rhythm, and managing stress hormones. Katie: Hello and welcome to the Wellness Mama podcast! In this episode, I had a fascinating conversation with Dr. Afrouz Demeri, a licensed naturopathic doctor specializing in integrative functional medicine, particularly for women. We delve into the mind-body connection and how it plays a vital role in healing and overall health. Dr. Demeri shares her own journey and the importance of addressing root causes rather than just symptoms. We discuss various modalities for addressing emotional health and better questions to ask ourselves for better health answers. Additionally, we touch upon hormone health, proper hormone function, and the significance of rest, stillness, and sunlight. This episode is filled with valuable insights and practical advice, so let’s dive in!

Dr. Demeri: Thank you for having me. I initially wanted to be a neurosurgeon but my own health issues led me down a different path. I had multiple symptoms and was on several medications before entering medical school. I was always curious about the reasons behind these symptoms and asked many “why” questions. However, doctors dismissed them as normal. As a result, I was put on birth control pills and migraine medication, which only made things worse. It was then that I realized I wanted to find the root cause of these issues and help others in a more holistic way.
